The PV Busbar Ribbon Production Line mainly uses copper wire as the raw material. The wire is first drawn to the required diameter for rolling, and then formed into flat ribbon through multi-stand precision rolling. After rolling, the copper strip passes through continuous annealing to adjust its mechanical properties, followed by flux treatment and hot-dip tin coating. Finally, the finished ribbon is wound by the automatic take-up system onto spools or pancake coils.
Drawing Machine
The copper wire is drawn through dies to a diameter of 2.6-3.0 mm, ready for rolling.
4 Roll Stand
The round copper wire is rolled into flat ribbon, with controlled width and thickness accuracy.
Annealing
Short-circuit annealing is used with inert gas protection and circulating water cooling to improve the copper ribbon’s mechanical properties.
Tin Coating
Hot-dip tin coating is used. Air knives control the tin layer thickness, and cooling fans help stabilize the surface quality. Single-side tin coating thickness: 0.01-0.025 mm.
Automatic Coil Chang
Optional functions include servo traversing, automatic spool change, automatic cutting, and automatic taping.
Precision Take-up
Spool winding: up to 30 kg.
Pancake coil winding: optional 1-2 kg.
Since 2015, GRM has continued to develop manufacturing equipment for PV interconnection ribbon and busbar ribbon. The company has obtained multiple technical patents related to precision rolling, production line integration, and PV ribbon manufacturing processes.

The line uses hot-dip tin coating, with full coverage around the ribbon, including both side edges.
The fourth stand of the four-stand rolling mill is equipped with two laser measurement systems, one for width measurement and one for thickness measurement. The measurement data can be displayed on the HMI.
The PV Busbar Ribbon Production Line is mainly designed for TU1 oxygen-free copper wire. Customized configurations can be provided according to different copper alloys, product dimensions, and special ribbon requirements.
